Garden Planning Workshop
Planning out a garden over the fall and winter to implement next spring is one of my favorite things to do! I am hosting an in person workshop to help you with your space in October at the new location of Apollo Sunrise Center in Newburyport, MA.
We will go over popular ornamental choices of trees, shrubs and perennials for the landscape space you have, with a focus on pairing plantings for light requirements, water restrictions, and staggering bloom times in order to maximize color and variety in the landscape, leading to minimizing weeds and learning how to space out plantings properly for the desired look. Examples include English cottage garden style, where everything intersperses, New England cottage garden style, where everything has a place, but touches to create a uniform space, or a more modern approach, giving negative space between each planting and maximizing air flow and integrity of your plantings.
I have been designing landscapes for over 10 years now and planning them is my favorite part. I have plenty of programs now to assist in the presentation, but there's nothing better than using traditional pad and some colored pencils to create a traditional landscape plan.
Would love to see and help anyone looking to better their space! Come prepared with a few rough measurements of your space, maybe some photos, and an idea of what you have in mind. Or come with nothing but questions! Totally up to you! Leave with a cute little plant surprise :)
Hoping to see you soon!
